Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance, location and salary range at the time of the offer._ **Responsibilities** Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. + Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. + Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. + Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. + Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. + Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes. + Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs. + Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. + Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. + Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures. + Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls. **Requirements** Licensure / Certification / Registration: + BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. + Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date. New graduates must have receipt of payment for application to Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) upon hire. + Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred. New grads must have proof of passing entry level exam, Cert Radiologic Technologist. Proof can include; passing scores, cert from the National Board for Respiratory Care or letter from the National Board for Respiratory Care stating passing of exam.
