Description We are looking for an experienced Commercial Paint Estimator to join our team in Southeast Mississippi. This role is essential in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial painting projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of commercial paint systems, ensuring competitive proposals that align with company goals for quality, safety, and profitability. Responsibilities: - Analyze bid invitations, project drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify the scope of work and resource requirements. - Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for various finishing levels, coatings, wall coverings, and related systems. - Determine necessary equipment, workforce, and subcontractor involvement to efficiently execute projects. - Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with project needs. - Develop comprehensive cost estimates and proposals, including detailed breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. - Collaborate with business development teams to establish and maintain strong, precise relationships with clients. - Work with project managers and field teams to review awarded bids, clarify production goals, and address scope details. - Maintain accurate records of bid results, historical data, and pricing trends using estimating tools and databases. - Utilize software platforms such as Stack, Sage Construction Manager, Excel, and Clearstory to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency. - Conduct site visits or pre-bid walkthroughs to assess project conditions and confirm quantity requirements. For consideration, please contact Mary Wood @ Robert Half 504-383-0743 Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. - At least 3-5 years of experience in estimating within commercial painting, drywall, or specialty contracting trades. - Strong understanding of commercial and industrial paint systems, surface preparation, and coatings application. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. - Advanced mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. - Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sage Construction Manager, Stack, and Clearstory software. - Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines with an organized approach.
