HOW A DATA SCIENTIST PRINCIPAL WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • As a Data Scientist Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of CMS. You will play a crucial role in advanced payment and policy analysis with linkage to other federal datasets to analyze trends in Medicare payment systems.
  • Lead complex Medicare/Medicaid analytic projects and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to analyze CMS data sources linked to data sources from other federal agencies
  • Drive impact analysis of healthcare and payment policy changes on health outcomes and program integrity.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning to advanced complex analyses and develop algorithms to assess exposure to fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare program.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelors in a related field. Masters Preferred

Experience: 8+ years of related experience and experience with advanced Medicare and preferably Medicaid) healthcare analyses and linkage to non-CMS data sources

Technical Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience in a data analytics or computer-science related field(s).
  • 5+ years of experience using R or Python, performing machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • 5+ years client relation activities, ingesting and synthesizing customer specifications and effectively communicating complex analytic outcomes to client satisfaction.

Security Clearance : Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
